A31 Precision GPS Beacon Antenna

  07/09/2011
Hemisphere GPS announces the all new A31 antenna. Designed for use with the manufacturer's popular Crescent and Crescent Vector L1 receivers, A31 provides improved 300kHz Beacon and L-Band (OmniSTAR) reception and GPS L1 multi-path mitigation with superior noise rejection.

Hemisphere GPS A31

The A31 is a multi-band (GPS L1, SBAS, L-Band and Beacon) precision antenna suitable for use with most precision GPS receivers to maintain tracking of GPS and differential correction signals in high‑noise and interference environments. When used in conjunction with a Hemisphere GPS A21 antenna, A31 and A21 function as a matching heading sensor pair, which improves performance of the Hemisphere GPS VS Series Vector products. The A31 antenna maintains tracking of GPS and differential correction signals even in high electrical "noise" and interference environments.

"The A31 antenna illustrates our ability to continuously improve overall DGPS performance," said Walter Feller, Senior Director of Precision Engineering at Hemisphere GPS. "By providing increased precision and functionality, A31 lets our customers get more from our Crescent and Crescent Vector GPS receivers."

The A31 features a rugged, IP69K-rated watertight enclosure and is 100% serviceable. The A31 is marine ready with a standard 1 inch countersink mount that can also accommodate a survey 5/8 inch mounting thread.

Using Total Stations for Indoor Radiation Mapping

A total station can be used for many applications. Oak Ridge Associated Universities (USA) uses a total station for indoor radiation characterisation, which enables the team to better perform environmental assessments. This video shows how it is done.
