Blue Marble Acquires Global Mapper

Blue Marble Geographics, USA, has acquired Global Mapper LLC. Blue Marble and Global Mapper share the goal of offering powerful, user-friendly GIS software to all types of users. This merger promises to bring new tools to Blue Marble and Global Mapper users.
 

 

Blue Marble formally announced the acquisition of Global Mapper on Wednesday 2nd November 2011, at its Third Annual User Conference in Denver, CO, USA. Recognising the cost-effective solutions Global Mapper has brought to the industry, Blue Marble is looking forward to bringing these new tools to a wider audience. Blue Marble will also be adding Mike Childs to its team. Childs is the software developer behind Global Mapper and he will play an important role in the product merge and expansion.

 

According to Blue Marble president Patrick Cunningham, Mike Childs has developed an excellent GIS visualisation, translation and analysis tool that will greatly enhance the current product offering.
