ELMF Off to a Good Start29/11/2011 |

| The second edition of the European Lidar Mapping Forum (ELMF), taking place on 29th and 30th November 2011 in the Congresshalle in Salzburg, Austria, has got off to a strong start. The opening keynote session, with Alexander Wiegert (Vexcel Imaging, Austria) speaking on ‘3D Imagery: Can Photogrammetry do it Better?’ was well-received. The panel discussion underlined the fact that open-sourced Lidar data and point-cloud services are gaining in importance. | |
|
On the first day, until 15.00 CET, about 450 delegates participated the conference. As day passes are available, this number is expected to increase.
Congress Director Versha Carter expressed that the exhibition is housed in the "most amazing venue which is situated in the heart of Salzburg. She tells that the halls are packed and generally there is a really positive atmosphere at the event".
