Record Attendance for Intergraph 2011 User Group Conferences

  13/01/2012
Intergraph attracted 5,500 delegates to its global series of 2011 user group conferences for the process, power and marine industries. User conferences were held in 25 countries on six continents and drew the highest attendance ever for the annual sessions.

The conferences featured the latest releases from the SmartPlant and SmartMarine Enterprise portfolios, Intergraph CADWorx & Analysis Solutions and Leica Geosystems' Smart Scanning solutions, offering attendees unprecedented scope and value. The global theme, "Building a Smarter World," demonstrated how Intergraph technology empowers organisations to improve their business through industry-specific technologies that make processes and infrastructure better, safer and smarter.

Hexagon's inaugural international users' conference, Hexagon 2011, was held at the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort in Orlando, USA, in June and drew more than 750 Intergraph Process, Power & Marine users. Hexagon 2012 is put on the calendar for 4th to 7th June 2012, at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, USA.

Eight Intergraph user conferences were held in six Asia-Pacific (APAC) countries in 2011 and attracted approximately 2,000 process, power and marine delegates, the highest attendance total ever for user conferences in the region. The APAC events were in China, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Thailand and the Australian cities of Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane during July and August. The highest-attended APAC conference was Intergraph 2011 Japan, a two-day event that attracted 404 PP&M users.

The Europe, Middle East, India and Africa (EMIA) user conferences also attracted the highest attendance ever for that region. More than 1,200 delegates attended sessions in 13 countries.

EMIA user group conferences were held in Benelux, Finland, France, Germany, India, Italy, Kuwait, Norway, Spain, South Africa, Ukraine, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom in September, October and November. A two-day event in Mannheim, Germany, in November was attended by approximately 300 Intergraph Process, Power & Marine users from the power, oil and gas, offshore, shipbuilding, mining and materials handling industries.

In the Americas region, Intergraph 2011 PP&M Canada in Calgary, Alberta, in September was attended by a record 149 delegates. Four Latin America sessions were held in Argentina, Chile, Mexico and Venezuela and attracted nearly 250 users of Intergraph solutions.

Users of Intergraph CADWorx & Analysis Solutions attended the fourth annual CADWorx & Analysis University 2011 in Houston in September. That event, along with three Intergraph CAESAR II® User Group meetings in Houston in 2011, attracted 230 total participants.

Gerhard Sallinger, Intergraph Process, Power & Marine president, said that the user conferences are premier events in the process, power and marine industries and that they are an "incredible place for industry members to gather, learn and network to solve common problems as they seek to increase safety, quality and productivity".

Using Total Stations for Indoor Radiation Mapping

A total station can be used for many applications. Oak Ridge Associated Universities (USA) uses a total station for indoor radiation characterisation, which enables the team to better perform environmental assessments. This video shows how it is done.
