JSDE/ION JNC 2012 Conference Change10/02/2012 |
| The Joint Services Data Exchange (JSDE) and The Institute of Navigation (ION) announce that the dates for the JSDE/ION 2012 Joint Navigation Conference have changed. The event will now be held from Tuesday 12th June to Friday 15th June 2012 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA. |
|
This date change was necessary to accommodate the exponential growth of the conference, and to relocate the conference's classified and war fighter panel sessions to a larger, more comfortable location. The classified sessions will be held on Friday 15th June 2012 at the United States Air Force Academy.
This year's conference theme, "Military Navigation Technology: The Foundation for Military Ops", will frame the four-day conference with tutorials held the morning of 12th June 2012. Technical sessions will be held from 12th to 14th June in a "For Official Use Only," (FOUO) environment restricted to U.S. citizens. The classified session and classified War Fighter Panel will be held on 15th June in a 4-Eyes access for citizens of the U.S., Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom. All participants must establish a need to know and be approved by the Joint Navigation Warfare Center security office. Show dates have also shifted, with exhibitor set-up taking place on 12th June and show dates of 13th and 14th June.
JNC is the largest U.S. military navigation conference of the year with joint service and government participation. The event will focus on technical advances in Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) with emphasis on joint development, test and support of affordable GN&C systems, logistics and integration. Due to the planned high level military speakers/participants and the partnership with the Air Force Academy for the classified session we are expecting a record number of attendees in 2012!
JNC conference attendance will be controlled by the Joint Navigation Warfare Center and will be restricted to U.S. citizens only. The 15th June classified sessions will have 4-Eyes access for citizens of the U.S., Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom. All participants must establish a need to know and be approved by the Joint Navigation Warfare Center security office. Foreign national attendees must submit a visit request to the Joint Navigation Warfare Center through their embassy channels. Foreign national visit requests must be received in accordance with USSTRATCOM policy.

Using Total Stations for Indoor Radiation Mapping |
|
A total station can be used for many applications. Oak Ridge Associated Universities (USA) uses a total station for indoor radiation characterisation, which enables the team to better perform environmental assessments. This video shows how it is done.
