Mr Mathur has been instrumental in helping NIIT GIS attain a leadership position, contributing to enabling many Mission Mode Programmes. Mr. Rajesh Mathur replied that this award was recognition of the work done by the Esri India team in past 15+ years. He characterised himself as a facilitator, since it was the team that helped Esri to achieve its leading position as the preferred platform for GIS users in India. The conference was reported as good, although participation in this location apparently suffered compared to the Hyderabad conference. The exhibition area was interesting, with companies such as GE participating. Mr. Mathur is an electrical engineer from IIT Delhi. He has attended a general management programme conducted by Ross School of Business, University of Michigan, USA. Mr. Mathur has been associated with the IT industry both in India and overseas for more than 30 years.
