Orthophoto mosaics from GAF AG and Euromap

In co-production, GAF AG and its subsidiary, Euromap GmbH, both from Germany, have extended the availability of IRS orthophoto mosaic 'Euro-Maps' from Germany to Austria and Switzerland. Coverage of the whole of Italy will also soon be available. Euro-Maps is suitable for spatial planning and analysis of the current situations for a wide range of tasks. Euro-Maps are regularly updated and are the only high-resolution satellite mosaic on the market offering such precise and current information with 5m ground resolution and blanket coverage for multiple countries. The required areas can be precisely defined and this prevents losses caused by scattering, which allows considerable cost savings. Today, Euro-Maps can already be created and delivered for other countries or regions anywhere in Europe, on request.
The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
