In Aerovision - Argentina, we have been using UAVs mainly for agricultural uses. Our UAV can include three types of sensors, RGB HD, multiespectral and IR simultaneusly. More info in www.aero-vision.com.ar. Gustavo Mezza - 15/02/2012 - 02:24

We're interested to buy a Schiebel helicopter with Microsft or Leica camera. Anybody can give an advice? Andi - 07/12/2011 - 21:35

We already use an octocopter from FALCON. The software that goes with this machine enables you to programme the device for the making of a nearly (depending on the strength of the wind) ortographic overview form a not to large area. We want to use the FALCON mainly when the large helicopter isn't available. Toine Voeten - 26/10/2011 - 08:11

I have not yet come across suitable landing method for fixed wing UAV outside cultivated areas. Rolf Becker - 20/10/2011 - 10:34

For accurate orthophotos and DSMs I think the fixex wing UAVs are more suited than the cuadrocopter systems because fixed wings are faster, they are better in straight lines and they can cover larger areas. From what I've heard the Gatewing X100 is a strong and reliable surveying tool. James Altrom - 19/10/2011 - 17:28

UAVs are excellent for real-time mapping but the noise level may be someting to improve on. Adewale Bhadmus - 19/10/2011 - 11:20

Interested in cuadrocopter. Can you give me more detail? Ed Garvin - 19/10/2011 - 06:20

Pix4D is the next generation automatic processing software specially designed for UAV. We already work with Gatewing, Sensefly, Asctending tech, Mavinci, Pteryx, and many others.

We have used different UAVs on the market but now only use the UAV Microdrones, we believe that these systems are now the most developed market is in marcos lopez - 18/10/2011 - 17:32

Proper Mapping with UAV is the challenge. Orbit works. Peter Bonne - 18/10/2011 - 16:24

We (USDA Agricultural Research Service) have been using small UAVs for 6 years to conduct rangeland remote sensing for vegetation mapping, hydrologic assessments and monitoring. Andrea Laliberte - 18/10/2011 - 16:23

AT with images taken from a cuadrocopter is easy Peter Fricker - 12/10/2011 - 07:51

3D Scanning of Historic Sugar Factories

The Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies at the University of South Florida, USA, recently worked with the Florida Park Service on a project to document the remains of several historic sugar-mill sites in the State Parks to create as-builts to be used in preservation and conservation of these resources. The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
