ScoutPakTM GPS: Performance at USDA Forest Service Test Sites

Organisation: VGI Solutions
This paper summarizes the ScoutPakTM GPS tests performed at the USDA Forest Service test sites. Three specific metrics are analyzed: 1. post-process static accuracy using a single position, a 5-second average point and a 60-second average point; 2. the productivity of the system, its ability to deliver continuous positioning in dynamic mode; 3. post-process accuracy of dynamic positioning; 4. The enormous benefit of high productivity along with reliable positioning is demonstrated.

The FARO LS 880, along with GPS and total station georeferencing and colour imaging, was used on these projects.
