Final Programme of 56th Photogrammetric Week Announced

The organising committee of the 56^th Photogrammetric Week has announced the final programme of the event, which will be held in Stuttgart, Germany, from 11-15 September. The event will focus on trends and achievements related to the topics of sensors and data acquisition, photogrammetry, computer vision and remote sensing, and geoinformatics.

The biennial event Photogrammetric Week (PhoWo) was initiated by Carl Pulfrich as a “vacation course in photogrammetry” in 1909; since 1973 it has been held at the University of Stuttgart. As always the single-track scientific program is conducted by internationally recognised Keynote and Invited Speakers in the mornings, and the well-selected OpenPhowo Partners demonstrate their latest technologies in Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Geoinformatics in the afternoons.

The presentations will be in English. Sufficient time will be allocated for discussions. The programme will be supplemented with demonstrations and comments on practical examples in the afternoons. The fringe events will offer sufficient opportunity for personal contacts.

In addition, a tutorial on “Remote Sensing – From Basics to Advanced Methods” will be held by the Institute for Photogrammetry (ifp) on Sunday afternoon, 10 September 2017. The fundamentals of imaging optical and radar sensors (SAR) are highlighted and there will special attention for SAR interferometry and modern methods for land cover classification.
