ISPRS - Mid-Term Symposia 2010

ISPRS has eight Technical Commissions, each sponsored by an ISPRS member organisation for a four-year period. The Commissions have established more than sixty Working Groups, responsible for particular topics within Commission areas of responsibility.

Commission I deals with image data acquisition, sensors and platforms, while Commission II works with theory and concepts of spatial-information science. Commission III focuses on photogrammetric computer vision and image analysis. The theme of Commission IV is geo-databases and digital mapping, and Commission V deals with close-range sensing: analysis and applications. Commission VI works on education and outreach. Commission VII is concerned with thematic processing, modelling and analysis of remotely sensed data, and Commission VIII relates to remote-sensing applications and policies.

Symposia
ISPRS scientific and technical programmes are mainly organised by these eight Technical Commissions and their Working Groups. In 2010 all the Technical Commissions will hold symposia in their countries. Table 1 lists sequentially the dates and venues of these mid-term events. The Technical Commission VII symposium will be preceded by the ISPRS Centenary Celebration in Vienna, Austria. The Technical Commission II symposium on Geospatial Information Science will be combined with the International Geographical Union.
