3D Target to Launch Payload Lidar at Intergeo

3D Target, an Italian manufacturer of measurement instruments, is launching a new Scanfly product. Scanfly is a turnkey solution for 3D Lidar mapping, specifically designed for unmanned aerial systems (UASs). Besides on UASs, the Scanfly can also be installed on any other type of vehicle (aerial, terrestrial and marine).

The optional panoramic camera allows the photographic documentation of the surroundings. The Scanfly backpack option will be available in early 2017. The SLAM algorithms aid the integrated IMU (INS+GNSS) to achieve the best accuracy even with satellite outage. The point cloud is available in the most common formats or for smart processing, 3DT proprietary software.

The basic system features include the Velodyne VLP-16 Lite Scanner, accurate survey-grade IMU (INS+GNNS), double antenna – double receiver RTK GPS/Glonass, integrated board for control, data capture and synchronisation, and smart-processing Lidar software for Lidar/GPS/IMU fusion. Additional options are a 5MP global shutter camera and a high-resolution panoramic camera.

System supplier and integrator 3D Target will unveil its Scanfly solution on 11 October during Intergeo 2016, the global hub of the geospatial community.
