Airborne I Offers 3D LiDAR Tools

Airborne 1 Corporation (CA, USA) now distributes QT Modeler and QT Reader, two developments from John Hopkins University’s Applied Physics Lab (APL) that enable visualisation of high-resolution 3D LiDAR data. The design is based on enhanced data structures using 3-D chips originally intended for the PC gaming market, and on extensive response from LiDAR professionals. The products do not require underlying CAD or GIS platforms yet can process models of up to 200 million points. Data formats for import/export comprise XYZ (ASCII), XYZI (with Intensity), LAS, GeoTIFF and raster floating point data. Additional features include line-of-sight and view-shed analysis, measuring capabilities, fly-through visualisation and change-detection.
