Altus to Distribute SurveyLab IkeGPS

Altus Positioning Systems has signed a value-added reseller agreement with Surveylab to offer ikeGPS multi-sensor data acquisition devices. The ikeGPS is the only system that combines a GPS receiver, laser rangefinder, 3D compass and digital camera in a single ruggedised handheld device, providing an integrated solution for geospatial data acquisition.

With ikeGPS custom software, the user can quickly compute positions of target items in photographs.

"We believe ikeGPS will be an important addition to our product line, complementing our own high-precision GNSS surveying products," said Neil Vancans, CEO and president of Altus Positioning Systems. "We intend to package the ikeGPS product with specialised application software to address specific market segments needing sub-metre GPS positioning and data capture, such as law enforcement, municipal governments and the oil and gas industry."

Vancans noted that for applications requiring higher positioning accuracies, the ikeGPS device can be interfaced with Altus' APS-3 GNSS RTK survey-grade receivers.
