Latest edition of GIM International: from Bats to Choppers and from Sweden to Amsterdam

The October 2015 issue of GIM International has now been released, including a focus on Sweden in an interview with Anders Sandin from Sweden’s National Land Survey. Furthermore, the magazine contains an article on Lidar scanning from manned helicopters and – taking a walk on the wild side – a feature about a project to track bat movements using geospatial acoustics. Alongside this issue readers will find the preliminary programme of the inaugural GIM International Summit, which will be held from 10-12 February 2016 in the heart of the Dutch capital of Amsterdam.

The leaflet outlines four of the workshops (Food Security, Urban Planning, Climate Change and Integration for Geo-IT) as well as providing a complete overview of the event programme, which is increasingly taking shape. The conference committee describes the GIM International Summit as a geomatics event with an out-of-the-box approach: future-oriented, forward-looking, explorative and sometimes even provocative, with discussions fuelled by speakers from outside the traditional geomatics world, all of whom are experts in their own field.
