LiDAR USA Announces First Australian Sale

LiDAR USA has delivered a ScanLook system to its first Australian customer, with Project Delivery Managers (PDM), located in Townsville, Queesland, Australia, receiving its first ScanLook system. Training was completed over the course of several days in late June 2013 in the USA.

LiDAR USA is very pleased that PDM chose to purchase ScanLook. Using ScanLook with the FARO FOCUS 3D for high-definition projects, and the Velodyne for some very environmentally challenging projects, PDM already has a healthy demand for the company's services. In addition, it has the full complement of 360 video cameras.

PDM was ready for the system upon delivery. Owing to the flexibility of ScanLook’s design, PDM has a very large project requiring the scanner be mounted at the front of the vehicle in a backwards position to scan both bitumen and gravel roads.

During training, it was great to see how quicky the lead scanning specialist, Andrew Lashmar, was able to grasp the entire operation, said Daniel Fagerman, CTO of LiDAR USA.

The confidence gained during this time for Andrew Franzmann, co-owner of PDM, was instrumental for him to meet with clients and discuss their projects needs and how Lidar can assist. PDM provides its services across regional Australia in the sectors of roads, ports, rail, mining and industry, and infrastructure.

LiDAR USA is committed to promoting mobile Lidar mapping and imaging around the globe. The purchase by PDM in Australia provides further evidence of the ruggedness and suitability of ScanLook in some of the harshest environments.
