Tenders are invited for aerial mapping services Short description of the contract or purchase(s): The Norwegian Polar Institute would like tenders for aerial photography on Svalbard by a digital high resolution aerial camera. GPS/INS shall be used for geo-references. The assignment consists of photography from a high flight height (main assignment) for the whole of the island group (including Bjørnøya). In addition there will be photography assignments as requested from external users from a lower flight height (additional assignments). The additional assignments shall mainly be based on spare capacity in the main assignment and will be organised and paid for by the awarding authority. The awarding authority shall be the legal owner of all the aerial picture data and accompanying data included in the contract. Tenders are wanted based on unit prices so that the awarding authority can decide the amount of photography after the contract has been signed, including whether to expand or reduce the assignment's size/extent. The main base for the assignment will be Svalbard Airport, Longyearbyen. The budgeted time period for the assignment is 5 years (the years 2008 - 2012). It is desirable that most of the assignment is carried out in the seaons 2008 and 2009. In 2008 the work is intended to be carried out within the period 14th July to 20th August. The assignment´s time scedule for the following years will be as agreed. Work will continue throughout the contract period until either all the planned operations have been carried out, or until the awarding authority's grants have been used up.
