Timmons To the Rescue in Missouri

Timmons Group (USA) is organising a local disaster relief effort to support ongoing efforts in Missouri, where last month tornados and severe weather ravaged the area. Estes Express Lines, a Richmond-based transportation company, has partnered with Timmons Group as part of these efforts. Timmons Group is donating several survey trucks and survey equipment to two small survey and engineering firms in Joplin.

"These firms lost everything in the storm and engineering and surveying services will be critically needed in the community's recovery efforts," said Brian Bortell, president of Timmons Group. "We recognize the two firms we are assisting can't perform these crucial services without the proper equipment and we are fortunate to be able to provide them with this equipment and play a role in helping this community rebuild."

Brian Bortell, has called on employees, business partners, clients and the local community to join in the recovery efforts to aid the Joplin community. "With a disaster of this magnitude, we feel a need to step up and contribute to what will undoubtedly be a significant recovery effort," said Bortell. "The State of Missouri is a valued client to our firm and we have many connections in this part of the country through family and friends. Our thoughts and sympathies go out to those that have lost loved ones and that have been affected by this disaster."

To support the ongoing relief efforts for Joplin, Timmons Group has organized a collection drive at its Corporate Headquarters in Richmond, Virginia. Beginning Wednesday, 15th June and lasting through Wednesday, 22nd June, Timmons Group employees will be on site during this time to collect, sort and box donations from 4 to 7PM week nights. Estes Express Lines is graciously providing a 28 foot freight trailer to collect the donated items and transport them to Joplin, Missouri for distribution to the community.

Items being requested for donation include new or gently used items, such as gift cards to Walmart and Lowes, cleaning items of all kinds, toilet paper and paper towels, coolers, boxed fans, laundry detergent, personal hygiene items, non-perishable foods, cookware, pet supplies, powdered drink mixes for bottled waters and new/gently used toys and bikes for kids.
