Topographic Map Database Updated

DeLorme, USA, announced the release of a significant upgrade to its World Base Map product with important improvements and changes for 2012 during the Esri User Conference, organised in the San Diego Convention Center from 24 to 26 July 2012. Major upgrades in the World Base Map 2012 edition include more roads and railroads, more rivers and streams, elevation data updated to reflect changes in ocean and inland lake shorelines, updated airport information and the latest country and administrative district boundaries.

DeLorme began publishing the World Base Map in 2010. It is a complete seamless global data set that includes all the world’s countries and the full extent of all continents, providing a consistent level of detail and reliable horizontal accuracy for all features worldwide. It has been built, maintained and enhanced using a uniform process. The data is also available in a raster cache format, which offers a rich cartographic look and compelling visualisation of the Earth’s topography. All data is in latitude/longitude coordinates in WGS84 datum, and saved in Esri File Geodatabase or Shapefile format.

In addition to World Base Map, DeLorme is showcasing its full range of mapping, positioning, tracking and personal safety devices in Booth 2407 at the 2012 Esri Users Conference.
