UN-GGIM Increases Awareness about Role of Governments in Geospatial

In this exclusive video interview, Ingrid Vanden Berghe, co-chair of the latest UN-GGIM session, explains how UN-GGIM has increased governmental policymakers’ awareness of the importance of geoinformation and their own role in this context. In today’s data-driven society, they can’t just leave this issue to the private sector, she says in the video interview with GIM International. She also talks about the preparation for that online-only edition of the UN-GGIM session, the impact of COVID-19 on the process, the UN-GGIM’s greatest achievements over the past ten years of convening in New York, and the most important decisions made at the tenth and latest session.
