Winnie Tang Keynote Speaker at GSDI 15 World Conference

Dr Winnie Tang, founder and chairman of Esri China (Hong Kong), one of the international offices of Esri will make a keynote presentation at the GSDI 15 World Conference in Taipei, Taiwan.

Over the years, Dr Tang has promoted technological and social developments by writing articles and serving the society. She shares her views regarding smart city and entrepreneurship to instil positive attitudes in the community. To date, she has published 6 Chinese and English books and over 200 research papers, newspaper articles and journals. Some of her current appointments include member of election committee (IT Subsector), advisor of Our Hong Kong Foundation, founder and chairman of steering committee of the Smart City Consortium, and board member of AeHIN (Asia eHealth Information Network).

In recognition of Dr Tang’s works, she was made a Distinguished Alumni for HKU Faculty of Science in 2009, was among the Ten Outstanding Young Persons in 2006, and received the Women of Influence – Young Achiever of the Year Award by the American Chamber of Commerce in 2004.

Dr Tang’s keynote presentation at the GSDI 15 World Conference in Taipei (29 November-2 December) is on ‘Building Spatial Data Infrastructure for Smart City’. Be sure to attend GSDI 15 to hear Dr Tang’s thoughts on this critical issue, as well as the presentations of the other eight keynote speakers, including Ivan DeLoatch (FGDC/USGS USA), Mark Reichardt (OGC), Ed Parsons (Google), Menno-Jan Kraak (ICA), Dr Vernon Singhroy (Natural Resources Canada), Dr Dewayany Sutrisno (Indonesian National Coordinating Agency for Geospatial Information), Dr Hidenori Tamagawa (Tokyo Metropolitan University) and Dr Satoshi Sekiguchi, director-general of the Division of Information Technology and Human Factors, Agency of Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Japan.
