Biography

Chima Iheaturu is the GIS and database manager for the Wildlife Conservation Society, Nigeria. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Surveying & Geoinformatics and an MSc in Geospatial & Mapping Sciences from the University of Glasgow, UK. He has received a number of awards including: the governors’ prize for best graduating student in the environmental science faculty, Imo State University, Owerri, 2014; African Excellence Awards Scholarship in 2017 from the University of Glasgow; The Hydrographic Society in Scotland (THSiS) student award in 2018 and best performance in MSc project for the Geospatial and Mapping Science programme at the University of Glasgow in 2018. Chima has been published in over six journals and conference proceedings at local and international level. His current research interest involves using novel geospatial technology to facilitate wildlife conservation activities in Nigeria.
