Airborne Technologies to Perform Sensor Aircraft Demos at Intergeo

This year, Intergeo is being held just a stone’s throw away from the Essen Mühlheim Airport in Germany. Airborne Technologies plans to use this opportunity to bring one of its sensor aircrafts to the event, to give interested visitors the chance to inspect it and perhaps even experience a demo flight.

The Austrian company Airborne Technologies, founded in 2008 by seven leading experts in the field of aerial sensing, now employs 35 people and has established a good reputation in the surveying community. The company’s ability for interdisciplinary work and for uniting the full work flow know-how under one roof makes Airborne Technologies one of the leaders in this field.

As an approved aviation authority design organisation, it is able to integrate sensors into aircraft and hand off its surveying capability to its own data acquisition team. With four sensor aircraft and a wide range of sensors at their disposal, the data processing team completes the final product, from point cloud to a customised tailor-made total package, in the required data format.

Airborne Technologies operates manufacturer independently but in close partnership with established aircraft and sensor manufacturers (e.g. Tecnam, Vulcanair, RIEGL, Vexcel and IGI).

The aircraft that will be displayed is the Tecnam MMA. The MMA is one of Airborne Technologies’ preferred platforms and was specially developed from its civil brother, the Tecnam P2006T. The design team have combined all essential features for a modern sensor aircraft, such as fuselage hatch, operator desk and electrical mission power to accomplish any surveying project.

Anyone interested in touring the aircraft or participating in a flight demonstration is recommended to visit the Airborne Technologies team at stand number E3.034.
