Altus Introduces GIS-1 at Intergeo 2013
Altus Positioning Systems is expanding its line of GNSS surveying products with the introduction of the GIS-1, a versatile Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) for data collection and geolocation. It can be used as a data collection device with Altus’ APS-series GNSS survey instruments, providing up to eight hours of operation time in the field between charges. In addition, the unit’s built-in L-1 GPS receiver and 3.2 Mpix camera can be used for navigation and GIS applications. It can even be used as a smartphone.
The device is a PDA that integrates modern wireless technologies on a rugged Windows Mobile platform for effective portable computing for mobile survey applications.
The GIS-1 supports a wide range of wireless options, including WiFi, Bluetooth and a Tri-Band GSM/GPRS/EDGE/HSPA cellular modem.
At Intergeo 2013, Altus will showcase the GIS-1, along with its full range of GNSS products, including the new TERRASTAR-D enabled receivers, which provide 10cm or better accuracy anywhere on the globe without a reference station.
