BAM acquires strategic stake in Droneview
BAM Nederland, part of Royal BAM Group, has acquired a strategic stake in Droneview, a prominent Dutch provider of drone services for the built environment. Royal BAM Group is one of the Netherlands' leading construction companies. The investment in Droneview supports BAM’s ambition to further accelerate digitalization across its operations.Through this participation, BAM also secures access to critical technology and capacity to carry out large-scale housing renovation and sustainability projects more efficiently.
BAM and Droneview have worked closely together for several years on residential renovation and energy-efficiency projects, using drones to map housing complexes more quickly, safely and accurately. Drone technology increases labour productivity and helps address shortages of technically skilled personnel.
Sharp rise in demand for drone services
In the Netherlands, an estimated 2.5 million homes are expected to undergo renovation and energy upgrades by 2030. The growing use of drones in these projects has led to a sharp rise in demand for drone services, resulting in increasing scarcity. The partnership with Droneview enables BAM to scale up more rapidly and respond more effectively to the expanding market for residential renovation and refurbishment. Within BAM, drone applications are also being deployed more broadly, including in infrastructure projects.
Founded in 2012, Droneview is recognized as one of the most technologically advanced drone service providers in the Netherlands. The company employs seven staff members and works with a flexible network of specialists, providing end-to-end support across the entire value chain – from drone flights and inspections to data processing, 3D modelling and digital delivery through an advanced online client portal. The company conducts drone inspections of residential and commercial buildings, bridges and other structures, delivering highly accurate three-dimensional models to support design and construction processes.
In addition to BAM, Droneview serves municipalities and clients in real estate, infrastructure and engineering. Following BAM’s investment, Droneview will continue to operate as an independent company.
