Canadian companies enter into geospatial data partnership
In Canada, sustainable asset management specialist Can-Explore has formed a strategic partnership with Jakarto, a leader in 3D mapping and geospatial data management. This collaboration marks a significant shift in how geospatial data is collected, certified and shared across Canada, leveraging high-end geomatics technologies to enhance sustainable urban infrastructure management.
Through this partnership, Can-Explore gains access to Jakarto’s advanced web platform, Jakartowns, enabling seamless dissemination of mobile scan data collected with Leica’s Pegasus TRK 700 Neo. This integration represents a major step forward, providing Can-Explore with a robust platform for sharing mobile mapping data and improving client and partner engagement.
Additionally, Can-Explore’s capacity to certify data through its team of land surveyors offers clients a comprehensive solution, combining data collection and certification under one roof for greater efficiency and value.
Certified data
Félix Laroche, president and founder of Jakarto, stated: "We are thrilled that Can-Explore has chosen Jakarto’s Lidar data management platform for its mobile mapping data. This partnership allows us to enhance our geospatial data capture capacity and provide now certified data for projects requiring engineering-level precision."
This collaboration also opens the door to data collection mandates assigned by Jakarto to Can-Explore, further enhancing the already well-established data collection capabilities of both companies. This synergy will not only allow both companies to adequately respond to the growing demand for mapping and data certification services, but also to reach new markets.
Jakarto, founded in Montreal in 2017, specializes in geospatial data management and AI-driven asset inventory, supporting urban planning and infrastructure. Can-Explore, established in Quebec City in 2014, focuses on sustainable infrastructure asset management, offering innovative solutions through a multidisciplinary team for municipalities and businesses across eastern Canada.
