Delair and YellowScan unveil fixed-wing DT46 Lidar drone
Drone manufacturer Delair and Lidar expert YellowScan have introduced the DT46 Lidar drone, acclaimed as the world’s first fixed-wing UAV tailored for long-distance inspections and the generation of highly precise digital twins. This groundbreaking technology will make its debut at Intergeo 2024.
The DT46 features the YellowScan Voyager Lidar, a high-performance laser scanner integrated with a high-resolution RGB camera. This ultra-long-range VTOL drone can cover distances of up to 300 kilometres per flight, depending on the take-off mode – either VTOL or catapult. It is transportable in a pickup truck and can be deployed in less than 15 minutes without tools, and boasts a communication range exceeding 100 kilometres.
Transforming aerial surveying
“Precision, high efficiency, excellent cost-effectiveness – we are very excited to integrate the YellowScan Voyager Lidar system into our DT46 drone and offer near-realistic results and unparalleled high-intensity details,” said Bastien Mancini, president of Delair. “With its long endurance, payload capacity, ease of use and robustness, the DT46 Lidar will revolutionize industrial infrastructure inspection missions and topographical surveys,” added Michel Assenbaum, president of YellowScan.
The YellowScan Voyager stands out for its exceptional precision, featuring a laser scanner with a 100° field of view and an acquisition rate of up to 2,400kHz, providing optimal point density for demanding projects.
Through this collaboration, Delair and YellowScan offer a complete and autonomous solution capable of performing long-distance precise inspections and mapping, from data acquisition by the drone to data processing.
