Donation Led to Scan Centre RGZ

In March 2005, the Government of Norway donated to the Republic of Serbia a flat bed scanner of high resolution and high geometric precision, with the total value of € 900.000. With the help of this donation, a scan centre was established at the Republic Geodetic Authority (RGZ). The scanner will be used for scanning and geo-referencing of 75.000 map sheets covering the entire territory of the Republic of Serbia.

The establishment of the real estate cadastre information system is supported by linking the alpha-numeric and graphic data. Thus unified information will become easily available to RGZ’s clients, as access will be provided through the Internet or Intranet.

The Real Estate Cadastre and Registration Project in Serbia, or rather the part financed from the World Bank credit, is now in its initial phase. Currently, the procedures for hiring local individual consultants for establishment of REC are under way for a number of municipalities included in the Procurement Plan within the WB Project.

The Final Designs for creation of Digital Cadastre Maps for urban areas planned for this year have been developed. The majority of real estate transactions are done in urban areas. And it is important to point out that the property records established from the loan funds shall be primarily for urban cadastral municipalities.

Apart from the specialised activities in REC creation, the Project also includes the improvement of quality of services provided to end users, through the reconstruction and renovation of a certain number of objects in RGZ organisation system. By the end of 2005, civil construction works should be performed in 15 of RGZ local offices.
