EDCON-PRJ capabilities grow as part of Sanborn's strategic integration
The Sanborn Map Company has strengthened its position in the US geospatial and mapping market with the full integration of EDCON-PRJ into its family of companies. The move formally expands EDCON-PRJ's capabilities and places the long-standing geophysical firm within Sanborn’s broader operational and technological framework. For EDCON-PRJ’s clients, the transition translates into increased technical capacity, access to additional sensor technologies, and entry into new markets served by Sanborn’s national portfolio.
EDCON-PRJ brings more than five decades of global experience in land and marine gravity and magnetics services, supporting petroleum and mineral exploration. Over forty of those years have included airborne gravity and magnetic surveys for mineral exploration and energy development. Its reputation for precision and scientific rigor has made the company a trusted partner in high-accuracy geophysical measurement, qualities that closely align with Sanborn’s mission to deliver advanced data and analytics across multiple industries.
Access to aircraft fleet and advanced sensor platforms
As part of Sanborn, EDCON-PRJ now gains access to a national aircraft fleet and a suite of advanced sensor platforms, enabling new combinations of geophysical data acquisition previously unavailable within its standalone operations. The company will also leverage Sanborn’s expanded data-processing infrastructure, including AI-driven analytics supported by in-house engineering, remote sensing and machine-learning teams. These combined resources increase capacity for major programmes in natural resources, resilience, critical minerals, utilities and infrastructure, defence and border protection, and geohazard assessment.
“This integration significantly expands the tools and technologies available to EDCON-PRJ’s long-standing client base,” said John Copple, CEO of Sanborn.
In addition to this retained statement, Copple emphasized that the combination of Sanborn’s aerial and sensing capabilities with EDCON-PRJ’s deep geophysical expertise positions the organization as one of the most comprehensive airborne data providers in the market. He noted that EDCON-PRJ will continue to operate with the same scientific leadership, field crews and project reliability it has maintained for decades, now supported by the expanded resources and innovation capacity of Sanborn.
