Experts to Train in Agricultural GIS, Remote Sensing

Yemeni agricultural experts will be called to a training course in Egypt on the use of geographical information system and remote sensing. The date for the course has not yet been determined.

Under a cooperation agreement signed by Yemen and Egypt last week, senior agriculture officials of both countries signed the agreement to shore up the bilateral exchange of expertise on agricultural research, post-harvest techniques, growing greenhouse crops and integrated management of the environment and water resources.

The two sides agreed on enforcing the recommendations of the joint agricultural committee made during its Cairo meeting on September 1998. The committee encouraged the plantation of endangered or less-distributed but useful plants.
