Extended ESRI Data
ESRI (CA, USA) has announced significant additions to the data offered via ArcWeb Services. Highlights of the added data include premium imagery from GlobeXplorer, road network data from NAVTEQ, detailed data of Australia from MapData Sciences, and Italian data from ESRI Italy. With this product, data storage, maintenance and updates are handled by ESRI. The company has also made available OGC Web Mapping Service (WMS) client and server support with the Service Pack 2 release of ArcGIS 9. An improved WMS connector is now included with ArcIMS. The product enables accessing OGC WMS using ArcGIS Desktop products. Services complying with versions 1.0.0, 1.1.0 and 1.1.1 of the OGC WMS specification are supported.
