Exyn partners with UP Caeli Via on autonomous aerial mapping

A new partnership is bringing autonomous flight into tighter, harder-to-reach spaces. Exyn Technologies – known for its work in autonomous mapping and AI-powered navigation across GPS-denied environments – has teamed up with Italian UAS manufacturer UP Caeli Via to bring the two companies' technologies together: ExynAI and the Nexys autonomous mapping platform will now integrate with UP Caeli Via's Argos aerial platform.

Because the Argos is a lightweight, compact aircraft, the collaboration opens the door to autonomous inspection and mapping in confined or difficult-to-access spaces that bulkier platforms simply can't reach efficiently. For customers in industrial inspection, infrastructure, manufacturing, energy and government sectors, that means more deployment options than before.

The move also marks another step in Exyn's ongoing expansion of supported robotic platforms, growing the ecosystem in which its autonomous navigation technology can operate.

New operational environments

At the core of the integrated solution is ExynAI, which unlocks autonomous flight, real-time mapping and survey-grade 3D data collection, all without needing GPS, prior maps or continuous operator control. That capability translates direct into practical workflows including inspection, digital twin creation, asset management and reality capture across complex industrial facilities.

Flexibility extends even further thanks to the detachable Nexys payload. When aerial access isn't possible or simply isn't the most efficient route, customers can switch to alternative deployment methods and keep their data capture workflows running uninterrupted.

Practical to deploy and sustain

Gianni Baggio, founder and CEO of UP Caeli Via, stated that combining ExynAI and Nexys with Argos allows them to offer customers more than an autonomous mapping drone. It creates a compact, integrated solution for collecting critical 3D data in environments that are difficult or unsafe to access. “For UP Caeli Via, transparent, secure and customer-controlled data management is a core requirement for industrial and mission-critical applications. UP Caeli Via’s role is to make the combined solution practical to deploy and sustain throughout its lifecycle through Italian engineering and manufacturing, application-specific integration, training, pre- and post-sales support, and a product philosophy built around serviceability, upgradeability and the rejection of planned obsolescence.”

Bigger picture

This collaboration is also part of a bigger picture: Exyn's ongoing push to expand the number of robotic platforms that can run ExynAI. Each new aerial system supporting the software broadens the company’s addressable market, opening the door to new opportunities with OEMs, enterprise customers as well as government organizations looking for flexible autonomous solutions.

That strategy already seems to be paying off. The two companies are currently collaborating on commercial deployments with one of the world's leading luxury vehicle manufacturers, where the integrated system is being used for autonomous inspection and reality capture workflows. It's a clear example of real-world enterprise adoption for Exyn's software platform, and a sign of growing demand for compact autonomous systems that can operate safely inside complex industrial environments.
