FARO X330 Integrated with Mobile Mapping System

FARO released the FOCUS X330 in October 2013, first at Intergeo and then at the FARO user conference in Orlando, USA. In January 2014 the same system was integrated with ScanLook, a static and mobile laser mapping system in a single unit, for mobile mapping and imaging on a cold and blustery day.

The system was installed and calibrated in just a few hours. According to LiDAR USA, the FOCUS 120 has always given good results but the X330 has improved upon this with better intensity, less noise, less sunlight interference, and an improved range. More experience with the X330 is required to ascertain the full capability in terms of range in mobile mode. It has proven its value in high-definition mobile mapping of roadways and other hard surfaces.

ScanLook can be configured to work with any number of FARO scanners as well as with the Velodyne scanner making it possible to do any job suitable for mobile mapping. The small size of the system and extreme portability open up a multitude of applications where mobile mapping has not been possible.

LiDAR USA is pleased to continue to offer the latest scanning technology with its ScanLook products allowing users a variety of choices. Visit www.LiDARUSA.com for more information including processed point cloud data and video samples.
