Geo Connect Asia strengthens its position as a hub for geospatial innovation

The rising awareness of – and appetite for – geospatial and location-based solutions across Asia and beyond is driving a new economy. Geo Connect Asia has unveiled the strong ambition to grow its regional visitor footprint through multiple initiatives in the runup to its fifth edition in Singapore from 9-10 April 2025.

Building on an attendance of 2,730 visitors at the March 2024 event, the target for 2025 has been set at 3,200 visitors, including a larger percentage of international participants. The Geo Connect Asia organizers have committed to an extensive hosting programme.

Geospatial community gathering

With the theme ‘Geospatial-driven impacts: underground, land, and sea to sky’, Geo Connect Asia 2025 will bring the whole industry together – from established companies to innovative start-ups – for two days of in-person discussions and networking at Halls B and C of the Sands Expo & Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands. The event serves as a collaborative platform for industry professionals from across Southeast Asia and beyond to connect, exchange ideas and explore new approaches, making it a valuable opportunity to understand the future direction of geospatial technologies and their real-world applications.

With conference sessions and tech talks led by over 100 industry leaders, participants can engage with practical solutions and learn about the latest advancements directly from key stakeholders. The topics at this important geospatial community gathering will range from a thought-leadership summit on the impact of autonomy on the geospatial industry, to Earth observation, the digital underground and aerial photography.

Additionally featuring over 100 high-end exhibitors, the event will showcase real-life applications ranging from drone technologies to satellite and underground mapping, offering insights that are relevant to government agencies as well as businesses. As a result, Geo Connect Asia 2025 is set to provide a comprehensive look into the rapidly evolving world of geospatial and location intelligence.

Addressing critical issues

Located in a region prone to challenges, and with a population exceeding 650 million people, the countries that make up the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) have experienced 15% of the world’s disasters since 2012, amounting to some 1,900 incidents. Building resilience into critical infrastructure planning is driving demand for new initiatives by government agencies and businesses. Therefore, there is strong interest in how new technologies can be applied to geospatial data to improve accuracy and predictability in addressing critical issues.

As echoed by the theme ‘Geospatial-driven impacts: underground, land, and sea to sky’, Geo Connect Asia 2025 will be co-located with Marine & Hydro Asia, Digital Construction Asia and Drones & Uncrewed Asia. This creates a particularly fertile platform for industry crossovers and for data-focused solutions. To further highlight the opportunities for cross-sector collaboration, a series of in-event conferences will take place, including the Geo Autonomy Summit, the APAC Earth Observation Forum, the return of Digital Underground Connect, and the Asian Aerial Mapping Forum.
