Geographic Information Market Survey

The Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics Research IGD, Germany, is coordinator of the EU project HUMBOLDT, in cooperation with the Technical University Darmstadt. They are conducting a survey on the "Situation and Perspectives of the Geographic Information (GI) Market in Europe." This week, they are calling participants to respond to a survey.

The EU project HUMBOLDT is especially focused on the harmonisation and integration of geospatial data within Europe. Standardisation efforts as well as European initiatives like INSPIRE and GMES are of major importance in this context.

The focus of the survey therefore is set on general trends and perspectives for the GI market; demand and opportunities for harmonised geo-data and progress and influence of the INSPIRE Directive for the European market.

In order to obtain a diversified picture of the current GI market situation and perspectives please support the activities and complete the online questionnaire.

In addition, the researchers would like to have the questionnaire distributed in your organisation or community via related mailing lists or other distribution channels.

The main goal of this study is to deduce certain trends and future developments based on the opinions and expectations of market experts and decision makers and not to obtain a representative empirical study. Therefore, the researchers request to answer the questionnaire according to the specific expertise of the respondents and point of view (it will take you only approximately 15-20 minutes).
