Integration of CAGIS and ChinterGEO

On 10 January 2017 the China Association for Geographic Information Society (CAGIS) – the biggest association for the Chinese surveying, mapping and geographic information community – held a meeting in Beijing with committee members from ChinterGEO (China’s largest trade fair for surveying, mapping and geoinformation equipment). They discussed the changes to the CAGIS Equipment Working Committee and announced the integration of CAGIS and ChinterGEO to further promote the development of surveying, mapping and geoinfomation equipment in China.

Several key members of ChinterGEO constitute the new leadership of the Equipment Working Committee of CAGIS. Mr Chao Ma, president of South Survey Group, was nominated as the chair of the committee. Six entrepreneurs were nominated as vice chairs. Mr Yanying Xue (deputy chairman of CAGIS) and Ms Zengning Wang (general secretary of CAGIS) attended the meeting and issued certificates to the new members of the committee leadership.

The committee proceeded to hold its working meeting in the afternoon of 10 January, which was followed by the ChinterGEO council meeting on 11 January. ChinterGEO 2017 will be held in Xiamen, a city in southeast China, from 20-22 October. Details of the programme will be released shortly.
