ISTAR Sells First Mobile Pixel Factory to PASCO Corporation

ISTAR (France), a European digital cartographic company, has announces the delivery of ISTAR’s Mobile Production Suite - the Mobile Pixel Factory - to PASCO’s GIS Institute, located in Tokyo, Japan.

This shipment marks the first sale of this stand-alone complete system, since its introduction to the photogrametric marketplace, a few weeks ago. Mobile Pixel Factory from ISTAR is an advanced mobile solutions that processes vast volumes of raw earth observation data from multiple sensors and rapidly produces a wide range of cartographic end products. To drive the unit, the operator requires only a laptop connected to the Mobile Pixel Factory via a conventional LAN or wireless interface. The computers are configured so that fundamental image processing tasks, such as Digital Elevation Model production, rectification and mosaicking (including TrueOrtho), can be accomplished efficiently - almost automatically. The unit comes with software that makes it possible to input data from majority of common large format and multi-line digital aerial cameras and traditional analogue, as well as most of the current crop of high-resolution satellites (SPOT 1-4, SPOT 5, Ikonos, Quickbird, ...) which can be handled during the same production workflow.
