JACIA Workshop

The JACIE (Joint Agency Commercial Imagery Evaluation) team, comprising representatives from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the U.S. Geological Survey, is organising the sixth annual Civil Commercial Imagery Evaluation Workshop.

The 2007 JACIE workshop will be held on 20–22 March 2007, at the Fairfax Marriott at Fair Oaks in Fairfax, Virginia (USA).


This year’s workshop will focus on calibration, characterisation, and validation information and associated applications of civil, medium- and high-resolution commercial imagery used by the government. Attendees who wish to make oral or poster presentations concerning the incorporation of medium- or high-spatial-resolution commercial satellite imagery or commercial aerial digital imagery into their scientific or applications research are invited to submit an abstract to Julia Deis at mail to: jdeis@usgs.gov no later than 5th February 2007.

Important dates for this year's workshop are given below. Abstract and presentation deadlines apply to both oral and poster presentations:
• February 5 – Abstract deadline
• February 12 –Final acceptances e-mailed
• February 20 – Registration deadline
• February 20 – Room block expires
• March 15 – Presentations due in electronic format
• March 15 – Signed Authorization and License to Publish forms due in hardcopy with original signatures (faxes are not acceptable).
