Large-format Aerial Digital Camera

Optech from Canada has released its CS-15000 aerial camera system. It is the first large-format camera to include both patented field-replaceable shutter and FMC technologies, making it the best solution for wide-area mapping as well as an excellent film camera replacement. The straightforward architecture also ensures image accuracy and clarity, while the design is optimised for reliability and operational efficiency.

The Optech CS-15000 introduces many new design features while significantly enhancing the original true Forward Motion Compensation (FMC) technology. More flexible than ever, the CS-15000 offers a field-replaceable shutter and interchangeable lenses to allow even greater operational efficiency. With a large footprint of 15,000 pixels across by 10,000 pixels along the flight line and a precision sensor, it provides the best of both worlds: large area coverage with extraordinary image quality. The superior image data, upgradeability and minimised downtime will ensure maximum aerial mapping business profitability.

The Optech CS-15000 and other new camera products will be unveiled at the ASPRS 2012 Annual Conference in Sacramento, California, to be held from 19 to 23 March 2012. Optech also welcomes visitors to the Optech Camera Series workshop to be held at the conference venue, Room 307, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday 20 March 2012.
