Lidar Forum Dates Set

Following on from the previous success of both the European Lidar Mapping Forum and the International Lidar Mapping Forum, the organisers have now set the dates for the next edition of both events. ELMF will be returning to Salzburg, Austria, from 4th to 5th December 2012, and ILMF will be returning to Denver, Colorado in the US from 11th to 13th February 2013.

In 2011, when ELMF moved to Salzburg from The Hague in The Netherlands, the venue received so much positive feedback from visitors and exhibitors alike that the organisers are planning to return there for a second year. There were over 445 attendees from 40 different countries at the last event and, interestingly, there were almost twice as many visitors from Eastern Europe as at the first event. Salzburg’s central location in Europe will no doubt have contributed to the increase.

The last ILMF event took place in Denver in January 2012, setting a new record for registered attendees, with 773 professionals from 29 different countries. This proved once again that Lidar, in its increasing variety of operational formats, is becoming the technology of choice for fast, accurate and high-quality geospatial data acquisition. Whether supporting highly detailed 3D urban mapping projects, forestry management, or railroad and power transmission line maintenance programmes, Lidar technology delivers the results needed by today’s demanding geospatial and mapping professionals.
