Lidarvisor introduces browser-based solution for automated Lidar workflows

A newly launched cloud platform offers a one-click solution for classification, rasterization and vectorization – all without parameter tuning. With drone-based Lidar becoming increasingly accessible, processing the resulting datasets remains a persistent bottleneck. Lidarvisor aims to bridge that gap for professionals such as surveyors, engineers and drone operators.

As Lidar adoption grows across the surveying, utilities and forestry sectors, demand for fast, user-friendly processing has intensified. Lidarvisor’s browser-based system handles aerial Lidar files up to 50GB and produces classified point clouds, digital terrain models and CAD-ready vector outputs. Data can be exported to industry-standard formats such as LAS, GeoTIFF, DXF and Shapefile.

From raw point to professional deliverables

The platform’s AI engine performs high-accuracy classification across more than a dozen categories, including ground, vegetation, buildings, power lines and transmission towers. “Lidar hardware got simple. Software didn’t follow. We built Lidarvisor so any drone operator can go from raw point cloud to professional deliverables – without becoming a GIS specialist,” said Florian Ferry, CEO of Lidarvisor.

Because the system runs entirely in the browser, no software installation or specialized hardware is required. The cloud infrastructure is designed to provide stable and consistent performance for large datasets, an increasingly important factor as point cloud volumes continue to grow.

Lidarvisor supports standard LAS-format point clouds and automatically assigns classes such as ground, vegetation (low, medium, high), buildings, roof objects, transmission towers, poles, wires, vehicles, water bodies, walls, hedges and high noise. The platform is positioned to support a wide range of applications, from construction planning and vegetation management to utility inspections and forest inventory work.
