MapAgile for ArcGIS

NMT Corporation (WI, ISA) has introduced MapAgile for ArcGIS, which was designed to provide greater ease of use in navigating and displaying data presented in applications based on ArcGIS Engine and ArcMap. MapAgile is a set of configurable tools incorporated as a plug-in to applications based on ArcGIS Desktop or ArcGIS Engine. The tools provide greater flexibility and ease-of-use for accessing and querying data displayed by either application.

The MapAgile tools include:

  • Selectors: Allow you to quickly and easily center and highlight map objects such as poles, valves, parcel numbers or taxpayer names by picking them from pre-populated lists. Selectors are configurable.
  • Zoom tool: Allows zooming in or out by drawing a box or clicking a point in the map view.
  • Magnify tool: Creates a window under which the area of the map appears enlarged. Use your mouse to move the magnifier and adjust the window size. The size of the magnifier window and the amount of magnification is customisable.
  • Ping: Draws an animated bull’s-eye pattern at the currently highlighted feature. If the feature is off the screen, Ping will point in the direction of the feature and give a distance.
  • Show in Grid: Displays attributes of currently selected features in a tabbed grid. Users can sort on grid fields and copy from the grid to other applications.
  • Annotation Group Manager: Uses the selector interface to list the various annotation groups found in the system. This tool allows you to zoom to, export or delete an annotation group via the same interface as a selector.
  • DynaPoints: Displays point data external to ArcGIS in real time with custom bitmap symbols and associated text.
