MapInfo Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief Assistance Program

In light of the tragic devastation of Hurricane Katrina, MapInfo Corporation (MA, USA) is volunteering its services to assist with the recovery efforts. In this time of recovery, they can assist organisations with:

  • creating and posting Internet and/or physical maps of affected locations, utilities, telecommunication infrastructure, etc.
  • tracking assets, such as equipment, emergency services
  • developing maps of relief locations including hospitals, kitchens and shelters.

For organisations that are current MapInfo licensees, they will waive, where appropriate, license restrictions during the declared disaster period. Whether your organisation is a current customer or not, they would be pleased to produce maps or provide the software and data necessary to assist in the production of maps. Their partner, TeleAtlas, has also offered to provide data, as needed, to create maps.
