Mosaic joins forces with Brazilian mapping expert ARX
Mobile mapping technology company Mosaic has entered into a strategic partnership with Brazilian geospatial company ARX. This marks a significant step in the efforts of Mosaic, a 360° mapping camera technology specialist, to expand its footprint in South America, starting with Brazil.
Mosaic’s premier product, the Mosaic 51 camera, is designed to meet the rigorous requirements of urban mapping and surveying. It is uniquely suited for Brazil’s diverse landscape, capable of delivering exceptional data quality in both rugged and urban environments.
This partnership harnesses ARX’s vast local knowledge and expertise, maximizing the application of Mosaic’s technology in Brazil. A key factor in this collaboration is the integration of the Mosaic 51 with high-resolution IMU/GNSS system, creating a mobile mapping system that entails high-definition Lidar, 360° digital imaging, and sophisticated GNSS/IMU positioning technologies. This integration supports a series of applications, from asset registration on highways and railways to urban registry and tree mapping, showcasing the adaptability and efficacy of these combined technologies.
Highway and railway mapping
As the initial outcome of the partnership, ARX recently unveiled a groundbreaking portable land mapping system, integrating high-resolution Lidar, a 360° camera, and GNSS/IMU positioning. This system establishes ARX as a leader in the field, providing versatile mapping capabilities. It is tailored for tasks such as highway and railway asset registration, executive project surveys, tree mapping, urban registry with automatic geocoding, urban accessibility analysis, and signage inventory.
Robert Ruy, director of sales at ARX, commented: "With the partnership with Mosaic, we are bringing high-resolution and quality cameras to the Brazilian market to integrate our systems, which are aimed at urban, road and railway registration applications. Due to the superior resolution of 12 megapixels, Mosaic cameras enable the identification of registration information with greater quality and clarity when compared to traditional systems with 5-megapixel cameras."
Based in São Paulo, ARX leads the way in delivering innovative geospatial solutions across Brazil. Specializing in mobile mapping and surveying technologies, ARX is at the forefront of developing new methodologies in the geospatial sector.
