New Developments Announced for SPAR International

SPAR Point Group has announced several new developments for the 12th annual SPAR International conference and exhibition on 3D technologies for asset actualisation. A live demonstration of DAQRI’s Smart Helmet, Atheer Lab’s Smart Glasses, and Euclideon’s Hologram Room are among the new happenings slated for the 2015 event, which is taking place from 30 March-2 April in Houston, Texas, USA. The organising committee aims to increase attendee interaction, with the technologies on display providing an immersive experience with real-world solutions.

DAQRI, a leading  augmented reality company, will be giving a live demonstration of the DAQRI Smart Helmet – a wearable human machine interface, which is improving efficiency, safety on the job and providing cost savings for Fortune 500 companies in aerospace energy, government, manufacturing, oil and gas, transportation and more.

Atheer Labs will also be giving live demonstrations of Atheer’s Smart Glasses, a 3D Augmented Interactive Reality (AiR) platform, which combines immersive 3D augmented reality with natural gesture-based interaction.

Also new to SPAR International this year, is Australian technology company Euclideon’s hologram room, which attendees can walk through for a “unique immersive experience”. Euclideon has created hardware and designed software to offer a complete holographic customer solution. Users may now scan in real world environments using Euclideon's solidscan technology and explore them in Euclideon's hologram rooms.

UAS

Additionally, the 2015 event will feature a UAV/UAS pavilion, including Sky-Futures USA who announced March 18 that they have been awarded a 333 Exemption from the FAA that permits the use of UAVs for oil and gas inspections in the USA. Also exhibiting on the UAV/UAS pavilion are solutions from senseFLY, Drone Deploy, Airgon, Phoenix Aerial Systems , Altavian, Xact Sense and others showcasing platforms and related systems on the exhibit floor.

SPAR is all about what’s new and what’s next in 3D measurement and imaging, said Lisa Murray, SPAR International director. 3D professionals need education and updates about how best to integrate UAS into current workflows. As such, a UAV pavilion has been added and programming to arm delegates with insight into the emerging UAV/UAS market and the inherent opportunities for end-to-end 3D.

Conference

The SPAR International conference program will feature presentations from over 90 experts in data capture, point cloud processing and delivery, who will share best practices for using 3D technologies to improve processes, produce spot-on deliverables, and save time and money. New learning levels mean content for everyone, from beginners to 3D whizzes to asset owners assessing the business case for using 3D tools.

Furthermore, the SPAR International exhibition will showcase solutions from leading 3D hardware manufacturers, software suppliers and service providers including market leaders such as Autodesk, AVEVA LFM, Bentley, FARO, Leica Geosystems, Optech, RIEGL USA, Surphaser, Topcon, Trimble, and  Z+F and 30 brand new exhibiting companies.
