Ordnance Survey Awards Contract to 1Spatial

1Spatial, which manages one of the world’s largest spatial big data projects, has been awarded the single source contract by the Ordnance Survey of Great Britain (OSGB), under which it will supply software support and consultancy services to the Ordnance Survey’s Geospatial Data Management System (GDMS).

Marcus Hanke, chief executive of 1Spatial, said they were looking forward to a new level of relationship with Ordnance Survey and to helping the organisation achieve its goals with the core geospatial infrastructure.

Ordnance Survey is delighted to award this contract to 1Spatial as part of a continued relationship, Bob Goodrich, director of information systems commented. He added that his company was proud to be able to support the growing UK technology sector and pleased to be working with 1Spatial on the core geospatial infrastructure.

This announcement follows 1Spatial’s recent contract with Ordnance Survey Ireland (OSi). 1Spatial will give OSi the capability to maintain its entire national spatial database and be confident in the quality of the data. Having accurate spatial data will give Ireland a national framework, which will underpin efficient government and economic development in the country, both now and into the future.
