Pythagoras and Terra Drone launch localized white-label CAD solution for Japan

Pythagoras BV and Terra Drone have entered into a strategic collaboration to introduce a customized white-label software solution for the Japanese market. The partnership brings together Terra Drone's SLAM and UAV technologies with Pythagoras' CAD and point cloud processing software, delivering an integrated platform tailored to Japanese surveying, engineering and construction workflows.

The new solution is based on Pythagoras CAD and has been fully adapted to Terra Drone’s technology stack and customer requirements. Customizations include a rebranded user interface, extensions to support Terra Drone’s proprietary file formats and the integration of Terra Drone’s own processing libraries. The software has also been aligned with Japanese regulations, workflows and user preferences to support smooth adoption in the local market.

Combining CAD expertise with drone-based data acquisition

Founded in 2011, Pythagoras BV has built a reputation for developing intuitive CAD tools designed to simplify complex geospatial tasks. Its software is widely used across surveying, construction and 3D scanning sectors, with a strong focus on terrain modelling, point cloud processing and interoperability. The collaboration with Terra Drone reflects Pythagoras’ broader strategy of offering adaptable software solutions, including white-label deployments for international partners.

Terra Drone Corporation, headquartered in Tokyo, operates globally in drone and advanced air mobility solutions, with activities ranging from surveying and inspections to agriculture and UAS traffic management. The company has been recognized for several consecutive years as a leading industrial drone service provider and was listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Growth Market in 2024. Recent strategic moves, including acquisitions and investments in airspace management technologies, underline Terra Drone’s ambition to build digital infrastructure for drone operations.

Localized rollout and benefits for end users

According to the partners, the collaboration is intended to improve efficiency and productivity for professionals working with UAV-based Lidar and SLAM data. By enabling seamless interoperability between data acquisition and CAD-based analysis, the solution supports faster processing, improved accuracy and more streamlined project delivery.

As part of the rollout, Pythagoras has provided extensive training to Terra Drone’s internal customer service team, enabling localized, Japanese-language support for end users. The software offers advanced tools for generating plans, sections and 3D models, direct compatibility with Terra Drone’s UAV Lidar outputs and features tailored to specific project requirements. Both companies see the launch as a step towards more integrated and efficient geospatial workflows in the Japanese market.
