RIEGL Lidar User Conference Successful

More than 100 participants from 17 nations came together in Orlando, USA, from 28 February to 1 March 2012 to attend RIEGL’s first International User Conference, dedicated to airborne and mobile users.

Programme highlights included latest hardware and software presentations by RIEGL, as well as users and partners, and scientific presentations by international experts. A panel discussion titled ‘Surveying in the year 2020’ led to a lively discussion featuring experts from Russia, Austria, Canada and the United States.

In addition to the technical aspects of the conference, the RIEGL community was able to participate in team-building social events including a putting tournament, helicopter ride over Orlando, and the RIEGL Awards dinner.

User reactions were very positive throughout: “I want to give you my congratulations for the excellent organisation of that event. In my many years of business, I have been taken part in many users’ conferences but I have never been in one so well-organised and with so many details - well done. The conference was as good as the RIEGL Scanners," commented a gentleman attending from South America.

“Once more congratulations for the meeting, the more we get to know RIEGL, the more we are proud to be business partners!” another participant stated.

Enthusiastic reactions like the above make RIEGL very proud and confident to begin planning for the next user conference, which is scheduled to take place in Europe in spring 2013. The 2013 conference will cover all fields of applications of RIEGL scanners: airborne, mobile, terrestrial and industrial.
