Seoul Metropolitan Government collaborates on hyper-realistic digital twin project

Techtree Innovation is embarking on the construction of a high-precision, high-resolution, hyper-realistic geospatial digital twin in collaboration with the Seoul Metropolitan Government. A business agreement has been reached for the production and demonstration of this digital twin, which will be of the Yeouido area in the South Korean capital.

Techtree Innovation has announced the signing of a business agreement for the production of a hyper-realistic 3D map, and the discovery and joint use of national services with the Seoul Metropolitan Government. The agreement signing ceremony was attended by approximately ten people, including Seoul City’s Digital Policy Officer Park Jin-young and Techtree Innovation’s CEO Choi Seung-yup.

Game engine-based digital twin

Under the business agreement, Techtree Innovation and Seoul City will cooperate on the development of national services using the construction of a hyper-realistic digital twin based on a game engine that can reflect various physical information and variables. In particular, during the initial period regarded as a demonstration, Techtree Innovation and Seoul City will construct a hyper-realistic digital twin covering a total of 4km2 in the Yeouido area of the city. They will implement disaster safety, disaster prevention, roads, traffic simulations and national services, and reveal them at the Seoul Smart Life Week held at COEX in Seoul in October 2024.

Park Jin-young, Seoul City’s digital policy officer, comments: “Through this collaboration, Seoul’s digital twin technology has been able to develop one step further. We will continue to expand the area where hyper-realistic digital services can be applied and strive to provide a safer and more pleasant urban environment.”

Choi Seung-yup, CEO of Techtree Innovation, says: “A spatial digital twin is a core infrastructure technology used in the public policy sector to solve urban problems. Through cooperation and demonstration of our high-resolution, high-precision digital twin construction technology, we will show that our company is leading without exception.”

Techtree Innovation develops and operates the high-precision, high-resolution geospatial digital platform ‘AROUND’. As a platform structure, it enables various services or solutions to be added once a digital twin has been constructed. Techtree Innovation is seeing rising demand, not only from domestic defence, government agencies, and real estate-related companies, but also from overseas.
