SI Imaging Services Opens New Market for VHR Satellite Imagery

SI Imaging Services (SIIS) has opened a new market for satellite imagery by jumping into the UHD (Ultra High Definition) video field. SIIS established a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Contents Square to provide KOMPSAT satellite images in UHD video documentaries. The MOU means that SIIS can extend the field of applications of satellite images.

Satellite imagery was mainly considered for analytic purposes, but now it has been shown that people are also interested in very high resolution imagery. According to SI Imaging Services, the images will offer viewers an uncannily realistic experience , showing tourist attractions from all over the world. The UHD video documentaries are called ‘Art in Space’ and will give viewers beautiful and impressive experiences with stunning satellite imagery of popular travel spots.

SIIS will provide KOMPSAT-2, 3, 3A imagery to Contents Square, and with the highest resolution of 40cm, it will provide a realistic experience. The first episode will be on Jeju Island in the Republic of Korea, showing the  beautiful scenery of Jeju Island, a  well-known volcano island  and a major tourist attraction.
